How we keep home cooking safe
Every HutPal cook is checked in person before they can sell, and again every six months.
Before a cook can sell
We check a food handler certificate (Kursus Pengendali Makanan) and a typhoid vaccination record, then visit the kitchen in person. We see the cook's IC to confirm who they are.
What we look at in the kitchen
Cleanliness and pests, raw and cooked food kept apart, a working fridge at 5°C or below, clean water and a place to wash hands, covered food storage, a lidded bin, clean food-grade containers, and no pets where food is cooked.
Every six months
Each cook is re-inspected at least every six months. Expired certificates mean the cook is paused until renewed.
If something goes wrong
Tap Report on the meal. A food-safety report pauses the cook for new orders immediately while we look into it. Missed meals are credited back to you automatically.
Dietary labels
Labels such as "No pork, no lard" are checked by us during the inspection. HutPal cooks are home kitchens and are not halal-certified.
